Senior Accountant (Lead Role)

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to strengthen and potentially lead our Finance team.

This is a key role at the heart of our organization, working closely with the CFO and Senior Financial Analyst to ensure accurate, reliable, and scalable financial operations across Belgium and France.

As Senior Accountant at GIMBER, you’ll take full ownership of our accounting landscape from A to Z by:

• Own end-to-end accounting (A–Z) for entities in Belgium and France, ensuring compliance with Belgian & French GAAP and all statutory requirements

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring accuracy through reconciliations and strong balance sheet integrity

• Oversee VAT, tax compliance, and statutory reporting, and act as key contact for external partners (auditors, KPMG, tax advisors, authorities)

• Manage group consolidation, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations, and produce consolidated financial statements

• Support the CFO with financial reporting and overall financial oversight

• Maintain and improve analytical accounting, ensuring correct cost and revenue allocation

• Drive controlling activities (variance analysis, cost control, performance tracking) and translate data into actionable insights

• Ensure compliance with excise duties and customs regulations, including reporting, declarations, and correct accounting treatment

• Coach and potentially manage 2 team members, coordinating workload and ensuring timely, accurate delivery

• Continuously improve processes, systems, and internal controls (ERP, reporting, automation) while remaining hands-on in daily operations

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, including A–Z ownership in an international, multi-entity environment

• Strong knowledge of Belgian & French GAAP, consolidation, VAT, and tax compliance

• Solid experience in analytical accounting and controlling

• Experience in FMCG, inventory accounting, or regulated products is a plus

• Knowledge of excise duties and customs is a strong advantage

• Advanced skills in Excel and experience with ERP systems (Odoo is a plus)

• Languages: English & French required, Dutch is a strong plus

• Structured, detail-oriented, and analytical

• Hands-on, solution-driven, and confident in taking ownership
